cotton fabric, cotton thread, acrylic ink, metallic paint, found object papers, stamped image, gyotaku and acrylic paint on 6" x 6" stretched canvasBoy,
theory is a topic you have to think about. I've got music theory in there as the sheet music, the theory of evolution in the fish, plus a veiled reference to Darwin in the fortune. I might re-visit this topic in a month to see what else my subconscious has to say about it.
The chop of yú in the lower left corner is one of Fred B Mullett's
Red Pearl stamps. He sent lollipops with the order (gotta love that) and his written personal guarantee is the funniest, most subversive decree I've read in eons - almost worth an order all by itself!
love your fish!
ReplyDeleteLove the fish and how you cut it in half. I have two gyotaku fish in the garage that I have yet to print from. You've inspired me. (do you feel guilty using someone else's stamps when you could carve it yourself, like ol' whatshername. I do.)
ReplyDeletethis is a great combination of mediums and techniques..
ReplyDeleteOoh, very cool! I like the multimedia aspect...

ReplyDeleteThe fish is a great
Quite surprising. I'd never thought of putting fish and theory in the same sentence. And I like the result.
ReplyDeleteLovely composition and well thought theme. I too, use commercial stamps whenever they are appropriate, even though I carve my own. It's akin to using a commercial fabric when it will work just as well (and is on hand) as a hand-dye. Why re-invent the wheel.
ReplyDeletenice work!
love that stamp
ReplyDeleteMe gusta mucho tu 'Theory', con ese único pez que parecen dos, instantes diferentes.
ReplyDeleteHa! And you thought my Eiffel Tower made of recycled tuna cans was fishy! This is very fishy but very beautiful as well!
